Nestled at the foot of the Bluestack Mountains of Donegal, and overlooking the still waters of Lough Eske, Harvey’s Point Hotel began as an Irish cottage belonging to the Harvey brothers, which was bought by Swiss-born Jody Gysling – he felt an instant affinity with the location, calling it his ‘little piece of Switzerland’. Marc Gysling later followed his brother from Zurich to Donegal, and the two set about welcoming guests with their delicious cuisine and fine wines. Marc was soon to meet and marry Donegal girl Deirdre McGlone, who shared in the Gyslings vision of a ‘Swiss Made in Ireland’ experience, and in 1989 together they opened Harvey’s Point Hotel - now renowned for its luxurious accommodation, excellent food, high levels of service and above all, an Irish welcome.
